If you’re ever in Melbourne, take the time to visit the heritage-listed Old Melbourne Gaol. Sure, the exterior architecture is a bit on the minimalist side, but inside, it offers a fantastic educational talk that’s enjoyed by children, über-cool teenagers, parents, and unaccompanied adults. It’s really very, very good and well worth half a day. The gaol owes some of its fame to the bushranger Ned Kelly, who was executed there on 11 November 1880.
